DONINGTON PARK 8TH / 9TH APRIL 2006
JAMES WEBB #17
There was a lot to cope with for James at Donington at the weekend. Getting there on the Saturday and listening to some of the other R6 boys talking about how the track had been when they were practicing there earlier in the week and not really knowing what to expect from the R6 he had a huge learning curb coming. The weather was very mixed to say the least but had to be coped with in the best way possible James sums his weekend up by saying:
“The weekend was good in the end apart from the weather. Warm up went ok on the Saturday, it was dry and the bike and track felt good. In qualifying I went out and should have just got my head down from the start but I didn’t because I didn’t know how hard to push it. Then it started raining so I ended up 17th and was not very happy because I just made it harder for myself. I knew I just had to get my head down in the race now. Keeping a level approach and trying to keep things smooth I ended up finishing 9th in the race. I was happy with that because I knew that a few more points were bagged with another top 10 finish. I know I can improve and do better and I can now not wait for Thruxton I know I can get top 6 finish. Knowing also that Thruxton is not used as a practice track. Hope the weather is good, see you there.” - James Webb #17
