James went out for his free practice session feeling extremely rusty and not really with it. Unfortunately James has had no riding since the end of last season, he has no practice bike and is in fact struggling to find the final payment for the R6 Cup series. He was therefore disappointed with his qualifying times and position on the grid and with the weather not being brilliant James was finding it harder than ever to get in to the swing of things.
James went out for the warm up and towards the end of this dry session felt that his old self was coming back and the rustiness was going. Starting from the fourth row James new that he would have his work cut out and with the conditions of the day being the worst ever with drizzly wet weather it just made things more difficult. He kept his head and consistency and just kept plugging away at the riders in front of him ending up 9th and bagging some points.
James said “I had a few moments but nothing to bad, I knew I could not get on the podium from where I started on the grid but still gave it my best and got as many points as I could. A 9th was ok for my first outing, I just want to stay consistent and keep on improving. After a not so good practice and qualifying the end result was not so bad. Now I can’t wait for Donnington.”
