James Webb – Still brave and determined!
Friday Practice:
It was wet and James went out very cautiously, having just returned from braking his ankle at Knockhill and only being out of plaster for ten days. The bike felt slow and underpowered, but feeling that the weather and a very stiff ankle was adding to difficulties we just hoped it would be dry on the Saturday.
Saturday Qualifying:
Having made a few alterations to the bike James went out for his first qualifying, pulling in towards the end of the session he explained to his dad that it sounded like a helicopter was chasing him. We then discovered that the bearings had gone in the sprocket carrier and the bike was just not revving.
A few more alterations and James went out for second qualifying, still underpowered and struggling to get his ankle working properly through the complex he managed to qualify 24 th . Not a happy bunny.
Sunday – Race day:
In true style and determination James kept at it. Going out for warm-up, the bike felt a little better but not a lot and now due to the hot weather the ankle had swollen. James went out for the race and although making his way up to 17 th in the first couple of laps, knew in his heart that things were going nowhere. James decided to pull in.
James has decided to miss the next meeting at Cadwell Park to give his ankle a proper chance to get going again and mend properly. As for the 125’s we just don’t know! |
