Friday – The first session was going ok I was getting the hand of the track and finding good lines and picking up things like that. About half way through the session I had a big moment going around the last fast left and it pushed the brake pads out of place, I went to brake and they didn’t work so I went straight on and crashed. I then got back to the pits and went out and went out and crashed on the spare bike due to cold tyres.
The second session was damp so I went out and used my head and just rode round and got to know the track a bit more.
Saturday – First qualifying – I went out still not knowing the track to well and just gave it my best shot. We made a few adjustments to the bike and they made it feel so much better, I felt as though I could go a lot faster. My time had come down from Friday.
Second qualifying – I knew the track better by now and felt more comfortable. I got on the grid but was 27th so I knew I had to get a good start and get my head down from the word go.
Sunday – warm up – this session was wet but I got a feel of how gripy the track was in the wet and how hard I could push it.
Race – I was confident that I could do good in the race and get a good result. Everything was going good and I got of to a good start. I was about 12th into the first corner when someone sat up in front of me, I braked but clipped their back tyre and went down.
X-rays confirmed I had a cracked bone in my foot. |
