The weather was absolutely foul it was windy, wet and very cold. James set of for the first race on his GP125 and was getting back into the feel of riding again just moving through the field and catching the front runners when at the end of the long back straight the strong wind caught his front wheel and the bike just went from underneath him. He came back to the paddock feeling battered and bruised with a similar looking bike.
We then had some re-building to do for the MRO on the Sunday. Doing the best he could and working well into the evening Jimmy rebuilt the bikes and plasters were applied to the boys!!
Sunday MRO Day: - Still with strong winds to contend with and the hint of rain in the air things didn’t look too good, weather wise.
GP125 - James went out to qualify and moved up to 7 th place when his dad pulled him in, feeling that it was better to qualify 2 nd row and still have everything in one piece. Going on later in the day to his race. James had a brilliant start and quickly moved into third place, making a mistake at the bomb hole out the back and slipping back into fourth, he soon got back up there with the third place contender, managing to pull his third place back and starting to move on when disaster happed and the back wheel locked up right at the end of the back straight, travelling at approximately 130mph James was thrown from his bike. How unlucky, the bike had seized, James recovered well enough to go down and watch his brothers race. His bike was not so well off. |
