FRIDAY:
Practice 1 – I went out and felt good. The track was slippery but it was the same for everybody. I was happy because I improved on the time which I had done in the test session the week before.
Practice 2 – Went well again in this session and improved on my time again. Just feeling like my old self again and new that I could go quicker in qualifying.
SATUDAY:
Qualifying 1 – It was going good, my lap timer on my bike wasn’t working so I found I relaxed a lot more and wasn’t pushing to try and get a good time. I tried different lines and just concentrated on improving my position. I ended up improving on my time and was 9th in this session.
Qualifying 2 - There isn’t much really to say about this session. I improved on my time but unfortunately dropped a place on the grid. I ended up 10th but I was happy because I improved on my time and there was a large amount of oil on the first corner of the track.
SUNDAY:
Warm Up – I went out and ran the bike in and did a similar time to that that I did in qualifying.
Race – I didn’t get of to a good start I was about 14th on the first half of the lap. By the end of lap 1, I had made my way up to 11th and at the end of lap 2 I was up to 8th place but the front group had broken away on the first lap. I was catching 7th but battling for 8th . I had already beaten my time for qualifying and I was just concentrating on trying to catch 7th . I had a slide and it felt controllable and then a few laps later it slid again, I thought it was just going to be the same as before but it gripped and spat me off the bike and that ended the race for me.
I would like to thank my mechanics and the whole of my team.
