Friday
1st Practice – I went out and it was damp so I just went out to get back into the swing of things. There is nothing really to say about the first session is was just a matter of riding round and getting comfortable.
2nd Practice – Went out and was getting quicker and quicker and matched my time from the beginning of the year and that was when I knew my confidence was up again.
Saturday
1st Qualifying – I went out running in, when I finished running in I knew I had to get straight down to the times that I had been doing on Friday – I got down to a 1.41.5 and was 3rd in my group. I was doing 41’s consistently and was trying to push for a low 41. As I came into a fast right hander I lost the front end and crashed. I knew what the problem was so I knew I could go faster or the same as earlier on in this session.
2nd Qualifying – I went out, getting back into it for the first 4 or 5 laps and then got back on it. I was doing the same times as I was in the first session. I went a little faster but not much, but unfortunately someone else went faster in the group so it put me down to 4th this meant that I was 8th on the grid for the race.
Sunday
Warm up – I went out running in and just prepared myself for the race.
Race – I didn’t get off to a good start and got tangled up for the first 8 laps in a group but when I managed to get to the front of the group I pulled a gap. I could see that I was catching 8th position but he was a long way ahead, I still kept pushing 100% to catch him. I caught him and overtook him, going onto the last lap I was 1 second behind seventh, I could see from the laps before that I was closing on him quite quick so I just pushed to catch him. I just got on the back of him going into the last corner and managed to get a better drive out of the corner and slip stream him to the line. I felt that this was a good race because there was a lot of GP riders there and I didn’t get off to a good start and managed to catch back up and finished 7th.
