FRIDAY:
Free practice 1: It was a wet morning and it was still raining for the first session. I went out with a clear mind and was going well and felt confident. I was putting in some good lap times. I made a little mistake by just hitting the white line going into the first corner on the brakes and the front end just went away from me.
Free practice 2: It was still wet but had stopped raining I was going well again putting in some fast laps. Then we put a different wet in the back because the track was drying. I went two seconds quicker but it felt like two seconds slower I tried getting on the throttle earlier and it chucked me off, fortunately I was ok.
SATURDAY:
Qualifying 1: It was sunny for the qualifying. I went out and I was trying too hard I did a 36.9 and I wasn’t happy with my time or position so I had a lot to do for the second qualifying but all I had to do was try and relax.
Qualifying 2: It was still dry. I went out and was in the 37’s straight away. I came in and put new tyres on and then I was in the low 36’s I ended up 6th in my group and 12th overall.
Warm up: Warm up went well I knew if I could get away with them I could stay with them.
Race: Starting from the 3rd row I knew I had to get a good start. I got off to a good start and was 4th at the end of lap one we were all battling and I dropped to 5th and then I was battling with another rider and we were holding each other up and let the top four get away. There were now four riders in our battle and at the end of the race I ended up 6th . I was happy with my result but I know I can do much better than that.
I’m really looking forward now to Jerez.
