Friday:
Practice 1 – Danny went out and noticed the track was very slippery, taking it easy in case the bike went from underneath. Times were down but so was everyone’s.
Practice 2 – The weather has warmed up and the track was cleaner. Danny went out and tried to get a good lap time and was pleased with his results but knew he had to go a little faster for qualifying.
Saturday:
Qualifying 1 – Running in the bike to start with Danny took the first few laps with ease and then started to push to get more laps in. He was pleased with his times as they had improved from Practice the day before. He was 5th in his group.
Qualifying 2 – Danny went out and started of well, he rode hard and improved on his times again, so once again Danny was pleased with his improvement. Danny was 7th in his group.
Overall Danny qualified 13th – 4th row on the grid.
Sunday:
Warm up – Danny tried his bike with an adjustment to his suspension and a few little bits altered, he said the bike felt worse, so the alterations were put back to qualifying settings.
Race – Danny had a good start and was 6th coming out of the first corner. He got his head down and started to ride hard. On the second lap onto the back straight he tried getting the power on earlier and it all went wrong, carrying too much lean angle the back end came round and spat him off.
Danny now knows that he can run with the best and is determined to be there with them next time in Valencia.
